Acosta spoke out about his resignation

On Wednesday labor secretary Alexander Acosta spoke out to show the story from his point of view during calls on his resignation on the background.

Acosta asserted that the mystery deal which was negotiated with an affluent financier is the best variant. It meant for sure that Epstein accused of sexual rape in early 2000 will keep his life in prison for 13 months. Nevertheless, Acosta insisted on the fact that Epstein would have never caught into prison if federal power had not been involved in. He also highlighted that there new indictments under the Southern district of New York towards a financial magnat in trade of women.

Simply put, the Palm Beach state attorney’s office was willing to let Epstein walk free, no jail time, nothing,” Acosta said. “We did what we did because we wanted to see Epstein go to jail.

Acosta made no excuses for Epstein’s victims but put a blame on government prosecutors. Commenting on the reporter’s statement about his failure to notify victims of secret deal which a federal court had stated, and his breach of the law, he said that he followed the department policy, adding:

I understand the judge had a different view. We believe that we proceeded appropriately.”

Barry Krischer, the state attorney for Palm Beach county at the time quiqly contested the claim of Minister of Labour in the announcement calling Acosta’s flashbacks “completely wrong.

The US Attorney’s Office produced a 53-page indictment that was abandoned after secret negotiations between Mr. Epstein’s lawyers and Mr. Acosta. The State Attorney’s Office was not a party to those meetings or negotiations, and definitely had no part in the federal Non-Prosecution Agreement and the unusual confidentiality arrangement that kept everything hidden from the victims. If Mr. Acosta was truly concerned with the State’s case and felt he had to rescue the matter, he would have moved forward with the 53-page indictment that his own office drafted.
