Pew Research Center conducted a survey on whether US citizens consider fake news to be a problem. The results of the survey have been released Wednesday and state that the US adults do consider fake news reports a major problem, and moreover, they blame politicians and journalists for that and believe that they must be responsible for fixing the problem of misinformation.
Americans think that made-up news and information is more of a problem than such issues as violent crime, climate change, racism, terrorism, illegal immigration or sexism. Most of Americans say that fake news reports influence their confidence in government, others say made-up information has a big impact on their confidence in each other and ability of politicians to get their work done.
According to the survey, Republicans tend not to believe the news and blame journalists more often than Democrats do.
