Ankara is ready to respond to attacks


On Sunday, defense minister in Turkey claimed that Ankara will respond to any attack from Libyan strongman Khalifa Haftar provocations towards Turkish ship and peace in the country: “There will be a very heavy price for hostile attitudes or attacks, we will retaliate in the most effective and strong way,” adding that all Turkish efforts are directed to “contribute to peace and stability in the region”. Akar warned that they “have taken all kinds of measures to deal with any threat or antagonistic action against Turkey”.

Under Haftar’s command, Libyan National Army (LNA) must be focused on Turkish army and companies, prohibit flights and arrest Turkish nationals in Libya. LNA has already begun the occupation of the capital in April. A new threat caused after forces of Haftar’s opponents had reclaimed Gharyan. It was attacked suddenly that was a blow delt from a strongmen for Tripoli.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed that Turkey supports Government of National Accord (GNA) and supplies it with military equipments weapons according to a “military cooperation agreement.” He also said that support from Turkey allowed Tripoli to “rebalance” fight against Haftar who stands for the UAE and Egypt.
