Democrats to hold hearings on Mueller report

Muller’s investigation

House Democrats have planned to hold a series of hearings on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report focusing on obstruction of justice by the sitting US President Donald Trump and Russian interference in the US election.

The first hearing is scheduled to be held on Monday and cover “presidential obstruction and other crimes.” Tuesday House will vote on whether to hold Attorney General William Barr and former White House counsel Donald McGahn in contempt of Congress as they refused to comply with congressional subpoenas. Wednesday House Intelligence Committee will have a hearing to review the counterintelligence implications of the Mueller report.

Jamie Raskin, Congressman for Maryland, commented on the upcoming hearings and votes. “I am very satisfied that things are moving in the right direction,” he said.

“And I think the American people are getting increasingly educated and engaged about the lawlessness of the president.”
