Robert Mueller, who conducted an investigation on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible obstruction of justice by the US President Donald Trump, resigned as a Special Counsel and appeared at a news conference, where he talked about his findings, Wednesday.
“If we had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so,” said Mueller during the conference. “We did not, however, make a determination as to whether the president did commit a crime. The introduction to the volume two of our report explains that decision.”
He has also added that “charging the president with a crime was an option we could not consider,” as there is a Justice Department policy that sitting president cannot be charged with a crime.
President Trump commented on that statement by posting on his Twitter Thursday morning. “The Greatest Presidential Harassment in history,” Trump wrote. “After spending $40,000,000 over two dark years, with unlimited access, people, resources and cooperation, highly conflicted Robert Mueller would have brought charges, if he had ANYTHING, but there were no charges to bring!”
He continued, “Russia, Russia, Russia! That’s all you heard at the beginning of this Witch Hunt Hoax…And now Russia has disappeared because I had nothing to do with Russia helping me to get elected. It was a crime that didn’t exist. So now the Dems and their partner, the Fake News Media, say h fought back against this phony crime that didn’t exist, this horrendous false accusation, and he shouldn’t fight back, he should just sit back and take it. Could this be Obstruction? No, Mueller didn’t find Obstruction either. Presidential Harassment!”
