Hillary Clinton: Trump administration tears down hard-won civil rights

News

Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State, blasted the US President Donald Trump administration for a number of their current policies, including immigration, transgender protection, and the Muslim ban.

During her speech at New York Hunter College, Clinton stated that “We’ve seen a surge in hate crime across America — shootings and arson at synagogues, mosques and churches, Americans targeted because of their race, religion or sexual orientation.” “And instead of standing up against bigotry and white supremacy, his administration has too often worked to tear down hard-won civil rights,” she added.

Clinton has also mentioned the Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Russian interference into the 2016 presidential election and that Trump White House officials “ignore” its findings and refuse to cooperate with Congress on a number of ongoing investigations. “What we’ve seen from the administration is a complete refusal to condemn a foreign power who attacked our democracy. We’ve got to deal with what has been investigated and reported.” Said Clinton, and noted that Mueller had earlier stated publicly that there were “multiple systematic efforts to interfere with our election.”

According to Trump, there were no reasons for Russia to meddle in the US election. Commenting on Clinton’s statement Trump’s spokeswoman said that “Trump Derangement Syndrome is real and, in Hillary’s case, apparently chronic.”
