Donald Trump was going to denounce new sanctions against Iran on Monday. After the evidence of a U.S. drowning drone, the relationship between these countries must reach its peak. Iran is concerned the drone and an accompanying U.S. manned military plane to be the breach of its airspace. Nevertheless, the Pentagon thinks the airplane was over international waters.
Mr. President is about to have a conversation with Iran’s authorities. He threatens “obliteration” of the country in the way of a war breaks out.
Although the White House did not impose the piculiarities of new sanctions, they are expected to be directed against the elite Revolutionary Guard military unit. Trump says that his reaction would have been different if Iran shooting the drone off had killed one of the US soldiers.
“I’m not looking for war, and if there is, it’ll be obliteration like you’ve never seen before,” the president said.
The Iranians claim they have never meant to make nuclear weapons saying that they are only for civil goals. When Donald Trump called off the strike, he endorsed an online attack on Iranian computer system that is used for rockets and missile management. Mr. Presidents admitted that some officials would like to have more obstinate response. National Security Adviser John Bolton cautioned on Sunday relying on the aborted military attack.
“Neither Iran nor any other hostile actor should mistake U.S. prudence and discretion for weakness,” he said.
According to the 2015 nuclear deal, Iran could reinforce its limits that might make this deal weakened to get to a possible nuclear weapons capability. If Tehran sticks to the 2015 agreement, the Islamic Republic will manage to avoid the US sanctions. The US allies appeal it to adhere the deal while Russia offers to run a financial mechanism that could let Iran keep it oil trade. Russia says new sanctions against Iran “illegal”.
While the tensity between Washington and Tehran enlarges, the Trump administration is carrying on lobbying allies and opponents to advance strict regime that could make Iran negotiate. The Iranian authorities get rid of any conversations with the White House until the crippling sanctions are cancelled.
Tehran said that online attack did not reach success and its further intrusion will not influence on the computer system. Moreover, Tehran is able to shoot off US drone.
“We confidently say that the crushing response can always be repeated, and the enemy knows it,” Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi warned.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said,
“The president has said repeatedly we want a brighter future for the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Pompeo reminded of the administration’s openness to negotiations with the Iranian authorities. However, the White House’s strategy remain unclear except its attempts to destroy Iran’s economy to make a better nuclear deal. In the interview for French newspaper Le Monde Adel al-Jubeir said that
“Today, Iran is under severe economic sanctions. These sanctions will be strengthened. If Iran continues its aggressive policies, it will have to pay the price.”
