Kenneth Starr says Mueller should testify before Congress

Muller’s investigation

Kenneth Starr, former independent counsel who conducted an investigation in 1994 which led to former US President Bill Clinton being impeached, told Fox News that now-resigned Special Counsel Robert Mueller should testify in public about his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

“We need to take a careful look at this, and I’m pleased that there’s a sense on both sides of the aisle,” said Starr. “I know the president would like this to just go away, but I think there’s a sense on both sides of the aisle that we need to hear from Bob Mueller.”

Mueller completed the investigation in March 2019 and then handed the report over to the Attorney General William Barr. Having redacted the report, Barr released it in April. Ever since then Democrats have been trying to get the full version of Mueller report.

Mueller has recently spoke about his investigation in public at the press conference, now Democrats want him to testify before the Congress. According to the polling, 56% of voters think that Mueller should do that.

Jerry Nadler, House Judiciary Committee Chairman said that Mueller must “testify openly.”

“I think the American people need that. Frankly, I think that’s his duty to the American people,” said Nadler. “We’ll make that happen.”
