Lindsey Graham asks William Barr to declassify Trump-Russia documents

News

US Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham asked Attorney General William Barr to declassify “as much as possible” of information related to the Trump-Russia investigation, Daily Mail reported Tuesday.

Sen. Graham has written a letter to the AG one day before the official release of DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on former FBI Director James Comey’s wrongdoings.

Graham is specifically looking for the “chart that shows the FBI’s attempts to verify the allegations in the Steele dossier,” a shady piece compiled by Former British spy Christopher Steele against then-a-nominee Donald Trump and his presidential campaign officials.

“I write to urge you to declassify all documents the Inspector General identifies as appropriate for declassification as much as possible, without harming national security,” he wrote.

Graham also wants to see declassified “any FBI or Department documents or communications discussing Christopher Steele’s credibility and/or biases or the FBI or the Department’s knowledge of Steele’s contacts with members of the media.”

Graham has been long pushing for the release of any documents that would shed light on the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation.

“In order for the Inspector General to be able to present the most complete results of his investigation to Congress and the American people, certain documents will need to be declassified and released to the public,” Graham previously stated.
