“We still love the Georgian people, we have a long history of joint living on one country,” she said.

Nevertheless, Matvienko noted that Georgian Powers do all the possible to tear the relationship “be someone’s dictating, whose – is clear.” According to her words, until the Georgian government gets everything organised and “Russophobes wave” stops, there is nothing to talk about.

Matvienko also spoke out for imposing the most severe punishment for drugs planting. She called this kind of  falsification a serious crime and indicated that it was unacceptable. The senator claimed that she stands against was the liberalization of anti-drug legislation.

Moreover, Speaker of the Federation Council called upon parliaments of different countries to reach the ban on the imposition of sanctions against parliamentarians by joint efforts. She added that she supported the decision of the Inter-Parliamentary Union not to hold the World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments in those countries that put limits on the participation of all national delegations. That is way, the next meeting of parliamentary speakers will take place in Vienna, not in New York.
