Putin invited Trump 75th annual WWII victory parade in Red Square


US President Donald Trump and the Russian President Vladimir Putin had a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan. According to media reports, President Putin invited his American counterpart to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Soviet Union’s Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Russian news agency TASS reported that President Trump’s reaction was positive. “We invited the US president to attend the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War on May 9 next year. The US president reacted very positively,” said Yuri Ushakov, Putin’s Assistant. “In light of that, the two sides discussed each country’s losses during the war, and whose role was decisive. They also highlighted the Soviet people’s contribution to that victory.”

President Trump later told the reporters that his meeting with the Russian leader was “great.”

“We’ve had great meetings. We’ve had very, very good relationship. And we look forward to spending some very good time together. A lot of very positive things going to come out of the relationship. So Vladimir, thank you very much.”
