Rod Rosenstein, former Deputy Attorney General, has recently been criticized by James Comey, former FBI director.
“I think people like that, like Rod Rosenstein, who are people of accomplishment but not real sterling character, strong character, find themselves trapped. And then they start telling themselves a story to justify their being trapped which is, ‘Yeah, he’s awful but the country needs me”, – said Comey.
In response to that statement Rosenstein called Comey a “partisan pundit.” He has also stated that at the time Comey was FBI director he “admired him personally and appreciated some of his accomplishments at the FBI,” but some of Comey’s actions, such as his handling of the investigation into Clinton emails, “crossed bright lines that should never be crossed.”
But now the former director seems to be acting as a partisan pundit, selling books and earning speaking fees while speculating about the strength of my character and the fate of my immortal soul. I kid you not. That’s disappointing. Speculating about souls is not a job for police and prosecutors”, – commented Rosenstein on Comey’s statement about him.
