Roy Moore accused of sexual misconduct to run for US Senate

News

Alabama Republican Roy Moore has stated that he would be running for US Senate in 2020, the Guardian reported Thursday.

Moore, who tried to get a seat in the US Senate in 2017, but lost to Doug Jones, Democrat, was then accused of pursuing sexual relationship with women who, at the time of misconduct, were 14-year-old teenagers.

Although accused of sexual misconduct, Moore believes that he can win. “I believe in America. I believe we’ve got to have politicians that go to Washington and do what they say. Can I win? Yes, I can win.” said Moore on Thursday.

Yet, many have argued that Moore is not the best candidate. US President Donald Trump tweeted that Moore ”cannot win.” “Republicans cannot allow themselves to again lose the Senate seat in the Great State of Alabama,” he said.
