Russian government official stated Wednesday that the US sanctions aimed at Russian law enforcement officials were “absolutely unacceptable,” media reports say.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow considers the US decisions “regarding representatives of the Russian law enforcement agencies absolutely unacceptable.”
Peskov said that the new sanctions imposed on Tuesday against two senior officers of the Russian Investigative Committee and their family members were another sign of country’s destructive policy towards Moscow. He noted that retaliatory measures are to follow, not providing any details.
Sergei Ryabkov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, said that Russia will never “yield to sanctions” and explained that Moscow is considering expending the stop list in response to the imposed sanctions.
“They assume that we will yield to sanctions, but this will never happen.” Sergei Ryabkov
