Trump wants to make new treaty with Russia and China

Left the 1987 treaty, the US President wants to conclude one more with Russia and China.

Trump began to think of a new nuclear pact removing the US from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty. He has already had talk with Russia and China and noticed that “China was very, very excited about talking about it and so is Russia.” He believes that they will “have a deal at some point.”

The Cold War-era pact has prohibited land-based missiles with a range of between 310 and 3,400 miles for about three decades.

American Officials are confident that China would have breached a deal if had signed it.

China’s ambassador to the UN Zhang Jun claimed that none of the parties could rely on its country as “an excuse” for a pact prevention.

You know, the United States is saying China should be a party in this disarmament agreement, but I think everybody knows that China is not at the same level with the United States and the Russian Federation,” he said.

However, on Friday evening, Trump spoke out about his suggested new deal: “We’d probably have to put China in there, but right now we’re number one, Russia is number two and China is number three.

In Trump’s words, “China is quite a bit down in terms of nuclear. China’s much lower but we would certainly want to include China at some point.”

Besides, only one deal on the prevention of the US and Russian nuclear arsenals, the New START, still exists until 2021.
