Kim Darroch, British Ambassador to the United States, has resigned after criticism over his leaked memos about the US President Donald Trump and his administration, reported Reuters Friday.
In his diplomatic memos, which leaked to the press last week, Darroch said President Trump’s administration was “dysfunctional.” On Tuesday Trump posted a series of tweets blasting the envoy and British Prime Minister Theresa May. “The wacky Ambassador that the UK foisted upon the United States is not someone we are thrilled with, a very stupid guy,” Trump wrote.
…handled. I told @theresa_may how to do that deal, but she went her own foolish way-was unable to get it done. A disaster! I don’t know the Ambassador but have been told he is a pompous fool. Tell him the USA now has the best Economy & Military anywhere in the World, by far…

The very next day after President’s attack Darroch resigned.
President Trump commented on Darroch’s resignation and said: “I wish the British ambassador well.”
“But they’ve got to stop their leaking problems there, just like they have to stop them in our country.”
According to British officials, the leak of memos by Sir Darroch was either an attempt to harm US-British bilateral relations, or damage the reputation of the Ambassador.
