US Air Guardsman, former Russian citizen, and her two children found dead in New York

Former Russian citizen and the US Air National Guard Member Alla Ausheva and two of her sons were found dead in their residence in New York on June 23, reported the New York Times.

According to the report, Ausheva moved to the US in 2011 and later the same year joined the Army National Guard. The next year she was granted US citizenship and in 2014 she became a member of the Air National Guard.

The 37-year-old woman was found “bludgeoned to death” and her two sons, two- and three-year-olds Ivan and Elia, were drowned in a bathtub.

Police detained Shane Walker, 36, member of the Air Force who previously served in the Army National Guard, and charged him with “murder, manslaughter, arson and criminal possession of a weapon for the killing.”

Colonel Richard Goldenberg, spokesman of the ANG, issued a statement, saying that “the New York National Guard acknowledges the loss of one of our traditional airmen in an apparent criminal homicide.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the families of those involved and the military members who served alongside Airman 1st Class Alla Ausheva of Staten Island, NY.”
