US embassy in Israel decorated office for Pride Parade

News

Last week the US President Donald Trump banned US embassies from flying the Pride rainbow flag, symbol of LGBT communities. However, the US Embassy branch office in Tel Aviv, Israel, decorated its building with big rainbow flag banners, which did not violate the ban, the Time of Israel reported.

US Embassy of Jerusalem posted a photo of the building on Twitter, saying, “The US Embassy Branch Office in Tel Aviv is ready for the PRIDE parade tomorrow!”

Trump administration has officially claimed that US embassies shall not fly the rainbow flag on their flagpoles. Israel was one of four US embassies, which got their requests to do so rejected. Mike Pence, Vice President, stated that “when it comes to the American flagpole, and American embassies, and capitals around the world, one American flag flies.”
