US sanctions boost revenues for Russian oil exporters

Since the US imposed sanctions against Venezuela and Iran, the demand for Russian oil has increased and Russian oil exporters managed to benefit from the situation, Russian News agency TASS reported Friday.

The US enacted sanctions against Iran in 2018, yet they came into effect only a few months ago. Sanctions against Venezuela, putting pressure on its economy, were imposed in January of 2019.

According to recent reports, Russian companies exporting oil additionally earned over $900 million. Bloomberg analyst conducted calculations, which showed that Urals oil is highly demanded in the Mediterranean region.
