Valentin Gapontsev, Russian scientist and entrepreneur, and United States Department of the Treasury signed a “joint motion to stay proceedings for three years and for dismissal thereafter and notice of withdrawal of all other pending motions,” Russian News Agency TASS reported.

Gaponsev, a holder of dual Russian-US citizenship, filed a lawsuit against Steven Mnuchin, US Treasury Secretary, and the Treasury Department in 2018 over his name being in a Kremlin list. The two sides signed an out-of-court deal to settle the dispute, which requests the court to drop the case by 2022.

“The agreement, among other things, sets forth the condition under which either party may seek to lift the stay and the accommodations provided by” Gapontsev and Mnuchin, the decision states. “The Parties further hereby withdraw all other pending motions.”
