China believes that the US is guilty of “deliberately destroying international order” with “unilateralism and protectionism”.
When China was called a currency manipulator by Washington, Central Bank of China admitted they “deeply regrets” and the US treatment “seriously undermined international rules” and spoilt the global economy. China put the blame the US for “deliberately destroying the international order” and holding its own citizens hostage.”
“The responsibility of big countries is to provide the world with stability and certainty while creating conditions and opportunities for the common development of all countries,” according to the editorial.
The US treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin thinks China is guilty of manipulating its currency “to gain unfair competitive advantage in international trade.” Now the US can beg the International Monetary Fund to “eliminate the unfair competitive advantage created by China’s latest actions”. Such a step from China carries out the Trump pre-election campaign.
“China is intent on continuing to receive the hundreds of billions of dollars they have been taking from the US with unfair trade practices and currency manipulation. So one-sided, it should have been stopped many years ago!” the US President tweeted.
Beijing, meanwhile, rejected to acquire crops from the US that Donald Trump reacted threatening to put 10% tariffs on the remaining $300bn of Chinese imports from 1 September. Therefore, this has hit dollar and strengthened price for gold.
